Le Tigre - Deceptacon (DFA Remix)

With LCD Soundsystem’s decision to disband this year, a lot of attention was perhaps diverted away (for the time being) from Murphy’s larger project, DFA Records. I think that his very best work has always been as a producer (of LCD songs or otherwise).

This song, from 2006, is a great example of why DFA Records are important for more than just putting out LCD albums.

Face it, Daft Punk isn’t going to make any more (good) records and will probably never again see the stage (or, at least, any stage that you’d want to really see). Murphy (and his comrade Tim Goldsworthy) make songs that appeal to a similar aesthetic and I that I can’t help but (unabashedly) love.

Enjoy this track, and let’s move on from All My Friends-cryfest-whatever and keep giving DFA some dough even though Murphy’s not a Rockstar anymore.
